Electricity in Benin
Electricity in Benin is managed by the Société béninoise d'énergie électrique (SBEE). The voltage in Benin is 220 V, which is slightly lower than in France (230 V), but this poses no problem. Benin uses Type E electrical outlets. You will not need an adapter when visiting Benin, as these are the same outlets used in France. Type E sockets are also compatible with Type C male plugs and Type F plugs if equipped with a grounding pin. A significant portion of the population also relies on solar panels for lighting. The country has backup diesel generators that activate in case of power outages.
