The Collines region is a department in central Bénin, bordering the departments of Plateau, Borgou, Zou and Donga. Its population is 716,558 inhabitants (2013), with a density of 51 inhabitants/km2, and an area of 1,393,100 hectares, or 13,931.51 km2. The department is primarily populated by Idaasha, Isha, Nagots, Yorubas, Shabè, Mahi, and Fulani peoples. The communes of the Collines Department The Collines consist of 6 (six) communes: Bantè, Dassa-Zoumè (the prefecture), Glazoué, Ouèssè, Savalou and Savè.
